Hewlett Packard CFO Bob Wayman to Retire at the End of Year
US based personal computer and other hardware maker Hewlett Packard has said that their chief financial officer Bob Wayman would be retiring from his position at the end of the current year.
Wayman had joined the company way back in 1969 as a cost accountant. He took over the job of CFO in 1984.
He also served as the company’s interim CEO from February to April 2005. As per company reports, he was paid a base salary of $975,000 and more than $4.5 million in bonuses in all in 2005.
Wayman said in a statement that he originally planned to retire after HP completed the acquisition of Compaq. However, he thinks that this is the right time considering the company is in strong financial position and stake in the market.
