Wal-Mart suffers another outage this holiday season
Retailing giant Wal-Mart suffered another online outage as shoppers continue to flock to their website to check for latest discounts.
Wal-Mart’s Elmo doll promotion has been a massive hit amongst the consumers and the rush caused 45 minutes of performance problems, including a brief outage as per information provided by a Web metrics firm.
Keynote spokesman Josh Danson said on this report: “According to our measurements, the Wal-Mart site was significantly degraded during this brief period and, in fact, took the entire site down for a short period of time.”
Wal-Mart had also suffered a similar downtime on the Friday after Thanksgiving. They are not alone. Almost all web based retailing giants have noticed higher than regular traffic this holiday season causing troubles for the bargain hunters.
