Google Base to have payment module
Google has finally revealed some more plans they have in store for the users of their recently launched service Google Base. We have already heard rumors of a potential PayPal rival service from the search engine giant. However, for now Google is just working on allowing people to use a credit card to purchase videos of the Google Video Store and now conduct transactions on Google Base.
The company has said in a statement that one of the aims of creation of Google Accounts was to enable the user to store his credit card information secure at a central place to use it on various Google Services, which might have the facility of paying for some stuff. Google Base is a potential hot place to make it usable.
Google is starting in a small way by allowing a small group of Google Base users to conduct transactions online. This would be expanded in the coming future. This might be bad news for other online ecommerce sites like the eBay and Craigslist. Until now, we have seen no competitor manage to trouble eBay when it comes to shopping on the net and Google has enough resources to do the unthinkable!
Google just has to make transactions easier and perhaps cheaper for the end user to conduct (if Google takes a share of the transaction) to make it harder for eBay.
