Websense to acquire PortAuthority Technologies Inc.
Websense Inc. has said that they are going to acquire PortAuthority Technologies Inc. for USD 90 million.
PortAuthority Technologies is a provider of information-leak detection appliances. This deal is expected to be completed by next month.
Websense would now integrate their technology into their portfolio of enterprise Web filtering software. This would help their customers gain control of confidential information.
Websense said that they are planning to blend its ThreatSeeker technology with PortAuthority’s PreciseID software.
This would help them become a major player in the “data-centric content control” market. Companies are now required by government regulations to stomp out data leaks.
PortAuthority has around 90 employees and Websense currently has no plans to relocate them.
