Stacey Snider is new CEO of DreamWorks
Stacey Snider was once placed No. 2 on the Power 100 list in the 2003 Women in Entertainment report. She has worked as the chief of the Universal Pictures for sometime now. Now, she is leaving the company to join Paramount Pictures-owned DreamWorks SKG Inc. as its co-chairman and chief executive.
She would now be responsible for overseeing four to six films per year and would also be taking care of the day-to-day operations at DreamWorks. Market reports claim that Snider was somewhat unhappy about her contract with Universal’s parent company General Electric.
Paramount has been quite aggressive in their working since sometime now and has made some high profile decisions. Looks like the company is working hard towards achieving the goal of becoming one of the largest movie studios in the world.
Snider was heading Universal Studios when they launched some really mega projects like the “King Kong”, “Meet the Fockers”, “The Mummy” franchise and the Oscar-winning “A Beautiful Mind.”
