Apple Retail Stores do better than Best Buy, Tiffany and Neiman Marcus
Apple does not just make excellent products, they excel at selling them efficiently too. A report claims that the company makes more sales per square foot compared to some popular retailing giants.
The company’s hip stores sell more per square foot than companies like Best Buy, Neiman Marcus and the luxury store Tiffany.
The report released by Bernstein Research analyst Toni Sacconaghi claims Apple Stores has annual sales per square foot of $4,032.
In comparison, many computer makers like Gateway have failed to gain much from opening retailing stores. Enderle Group analyst Rob Enderle added on this report: “This may be as much an indicator that Apple’s store placement is better than Tiffany’s.”
Sacconaghi added: “Our research points to Apple stores having boosted revenue and margins over the last five years, although perhaps not to the degree that many investors may realize, as our analysis point to share shifts from indirect sales, rather than incremental share gains.”
