Transcend is now Samsung’s largest NAND flash memory purchaser
It is a well known fact that Apple buys large amount of flash memory chips from South Korean company Samsung. Apple uses this memory in their popular iPod range of digital music and video players.
However, they are no longer the largest customer of the company when it comes to NAND based flash memory. Transcend has now become the largest purchaser in this segment.
Market sources claim that Transcend’s shipments of NAND flash based products are now approaching three million units per month.
The company is gaining from the falling price of flash memory chips. However, their primary business continues to remain related to DRAM memory modules for personal computers.
Incidentally, we at TechWhack are regular users of Transcend USB Pen Drives.
