Best Buy opens up a retail store in China
US based retailing giant Best Buy has opened up their first outlet in the Chinese market. The company has teamed up with a local partner as they aim to take on existing players in the market.
They are just one of the long list of retail players trying to get a piece of the Chinese retailing segment.
They are collaborating with local electronics chain Jiangsu Five Star Appliance Co. and have opened up their first store Shanghai.
Incidentally, this store is their biggest store yet and the first outside the North American region.
Lu Weiming, chairman and general manager of Best Buy China said in a statement on their plans with this store: “We are confident that we now have a store model that will differentiate us and win the consumer’s heart.”
