Alliance Data Systems to acquire Abacus from DoubleClick Inc.
Alliance Data Systems Corp. is a provider of transaction, credit and marketing services. The company has now said that they are acquiring Abacus from DoubleClick Inc.
They would make this acquisition through their Epsilon unit. This deal would be worth around $435 million and would be conducted in a cash transaction.
The deal would help Alliance to provide more services to the retail and catalog industry.
Apparently, this is the second such deal happening between these two companies in less than a year. Alliance has already acquired DoubleClick’s Email Solutions unit for about $90 million.
The Abacus deal would get them clients like Brookstone, Patagonia and Sur La Table. And they would get established offices in Lafayette, Colorado; Schaumburg, Illinois, and the United Kingdom.
