J.C. Penney Co. Inc. dismisses chief operating officer, Catherine West

US based department store company JC Penny has announced that they are firing their chief operating officer, Catherine West.

Interestingly, she had been on this job for a period of just six months.

She was named the COO and the executive vice president of the company in June this year. Previously, she used to work for Capital One Financial Corp.

The company said in a statement that the termination is effective immediately. They have not explained any reasons for taking this step.

Citigroup analyst Deborah Weinswig spoke on this new development: “We believe this decision came as a result of Ms. West not being a good fit for the company.”
