Chrysler Group to have their restructuring plan ready by next month
The assault from the Japanese automakers means that the US based companies are finding it hard to compete in their own domestic markets.
Both GM and Ford have been working hard on implementing their restructuring plan. Now, Chrysler Group is expected to have their plan ready by next month.
The company further said that they have set a target of doubling its sales outside North America over the next five years to roughly 400,000 units. This would help them turn around their operations in the United States market.
Chrysler Group Chief Executive Tom LaSorda said in a statement: “That’s the overall plan that we will take to the marketplace. It will probably be by the end of the second month of the year. It will outline what we need to do on a wide scope of business, and I’m not providing any details until that day.”
He further said that the company is open to more collaboration similar to the one they got into with China based Chery Automobile. He said: “The opportunities outside the U.S. are becoming more and more important.”
