BMW saw impressive sales in 2006
German luxury automobile maker BMW has said that they had a good 2006 year. The company had a fantastic December month where sales improved by around 10% compared to the previous year.
BMW Chief Executive Norbert Reithofer said in a statement on this impressive performance: “We want to continue the BMW Group’s success story in 2007. That is to say we intend to achieve new sales records for every brand.”
The company saw impressive sales of their new Mini model. BMW overall sold just over 1.37 million units last year keeping them ahead of Mercedes Car Group premium division which sold 1.26 million vehicles.
Michael Ganal, head of sales and marketing at BMW said that they can easily surpass their earlier estimated sales target of 1.4 million cars in the current year.
The company added that they delivered 163 Rolls-Royce luxury cars in December.
