Mercedes-Benz showcases Vision GL420 Bluetec concept
Mercedes-Benz is continuing to showcase their dedication for the diesel engine technology. The company is now displaying their Bluetec engine.
The company says that this advance engine would prove that large, powerful vehicles can offer economical fuel consumption and low emissions.
DaimlerChrysler CEO Dieter Zetsche displayed this Vision GL420 Bluetec concept at the North American International Auto Show. Mercedes Benz claims that this V8 diesel engine offers 24 miles per gallon.”
The concept vehicle’s V8 diesel engine is capable of 216kW and a whopping 700Nm of torque. It has a tank range of 1000 Kilometers.
Mercedes USA said in a statement: “The unique styling of the Vision GL420 Bluetec adds visual emphasis to the special status of this model.”
The company has developed two versions of Bluetec. One of these versions is more efficient as it uses AdBlue, an aqueous urea solution.
