Burger King Holdings might enter India through Pantaloon Retail
Pantaloon Retail India Ltd. is one of the country’s top retailing company and they are reportedly talking with Burger King Holdings Inc.
The talks might result in Burger King’s entry into the Indian market already home to McDonalds since a long time.
The Business Standard reported in a news item that the two companies are likely to reach a franchise arrangement.
In fact, there were also reports of possible talks between Pantaloon’s parent company, Future Group and the coffee chain Starbucks Corp. for their entry into the Indian market.
The latest on that front are the rumors that Starbucks’ application with the Indian government for a local joint venture had been put on hold.
Pantaloon has declined to comment on these rumors on the Burger King talks.
