China is the second largest auto market now after United States
China is already the world’s second largest internet market. Now, they have overtaken Japan to become the second largest auto market in the world.
The United States of America continues to head the chart. The Chinese auto industry association claimed that the sales of cars in the country jumped 37 per cent last year.
The increasing sales in Chinese market are pretty apparent by the way automakers around the world are rushing to open their factories in the country.
General Motors and Ford are struggling in their home market but are doing exceptionally well in China. Volkswagen is another company which has performed excellently in China.
Michael Dunne, Asia-Pacific vice-president for auto research firm J.D. Power and Associates spoke about this trend: “There’s money here and people spend that money on cars. The Chinese government has made no secret of its intention to develop a car culture and a car industry. All of the forces are working together.”
