New York Stock Exchange plans to bring real-time Web quotes
The New York Stock Exchange is set to launch a test program to bring real-time stock quotes to Internet users. This was revealed in a news article by the Wall Street Journal.
The NYSE group is likely to file a proposal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for this purpose.
If their proposal is approved, they would allow Web sites to publish trade prices with nearly no delay. However, they would require a payment of $100,000 a month for this facility.
The news report claimed that the test program could begin as early as March this year.
Online companies including Google and CNBC have already said that if they get this facility they would give it out to their users for free.
