Aviva to move 5,000 BPO jobs to India
British insurance company Aviva has plans to move as many as 5,000 of its third party BPO vendor staff to their Indian operations.
The company already has an Indian subsidiary in the form of Aviva Global Services (AGS).
Aviva added that they have already transferred 1,600 employees from Aviva-24/7 Customer in Bangalore this month.
They have around 6,200 employees on the BPO side in India in partnership with three companies 24/7 Customer, EXL and WNS.
Rajnish Virmani, CEO, Aviva Global Services said in a statement on this new development: “The staff in Pune, Bangalore and Colombo will be transferred to the captive unit from the three partners while the operations in Chennai with 24/7 Customer and Noida centre with EXL will still be operated by the partners and ramped up in 2007 and 2008.”
