American Airlines limits their tickets availability on Expedia
US based Airline Company American Airlines has said that they would no longer be selling first and business class tickets through online travel agency Expedia.
However, they would continue to sell coach tickets for travel in the United States through Expedia.
Expedia was recently spun off by IAC/InterActiveCorp in August 2005.
The company said that they failed to renegotiate a distribution deal for the higher-priced tickets with Expedia.
An AA representative said: “We simply could not come to economic terms with Expedia. We still have a good relationship with Expedia, but we just had to let the public know.”
The company already sells international and domestic first- and business-class tickets through its own Web site. They also have collaborations for sales of these tickets with other travel agencies.
