Honda’s second plant in India in Rajasthan
Japanese automaker Honda’s Indian subsidiary Honda Siel Cars India has said that their second plant here in India would be established in Rajasthan.
This new plant would be built with an initial manufacturing capacity of 50,000 cars per year. And the company plans to manufacture a small car for the Indian market.
Honda’s plant in Rajasthan would be built on a 500-700 acre site and it would also house a network of vendors. The company aims to garner a larger share in the India’s mid-size and premium segments.
The company has a long term aim of selling more than 150,000 vehicles a year in India by 2010. They are also doubling the manufacturing capabilities of their existing plant in India located near Delhi.
Honda is currently selling City, Civic and Accord sedans and the CR-V sport utility in India.
