AOL to acquire TradeDoubler for $900 million
Time Warner’s internet division AOL has said that they are now acquiring Swedish online marketing group TradeDoubler.
This deal would cost them around USD 900 million and the company aims to boost their Internet advertising business with this acquisition.
The company would compliment AOL’s Advertising.com business which they had earlier acquired in 2004. AOL said it offered 215 crowns a share for the Swedish company and the company has recommended their shareholders to approve the bid.
Time Warner president and CEO Jeff Bewkes said in a statement on this deal: “Not only does our offer provide an attractive premium valuation … it also will enable TradeDoubler to play a key role in our strategic focus on growing our online advertising business in Europe.”
He further said: “With AOL and Advertising.com, we have built a robust online advertising business in Europe, and TradeDoubler will help us accelerate the growth of this business.”
