Hewlett Packard continues to dominate Dell in personal computer market
Hewlett-Packard has extended its lead over Dell as the world’s largest personal computer manufacturer. IDC and Gartner came out with different figures but the same result that HP is outgrowing the rest of the market.
The company continues to lead the worldwide tally of PC sales for the second quarter in a row.
Gartner reported that the markets saw 7.4 percent in sales of personal computers in the most recent quarter. IDC reported the growth to be around 8.7 percent.
However, both the research group said that the sales in the US market are seeing a slump. This could mostly be credited to the delayed launch of the Microsoft’s Vista operating system. Microsoft is due to launch Vista later this month.
Besides, HP and Dell other major players in the market are Lenovo, Acer and Toshiba.
