Virgin America tries again to enter US market with a low-cost airline service
Virgin America has now revised its ownership application as they hope to reverse a tentative decision by U.S. regulators stopping them from launching a low cost airline service in the country.
The company has now made significant changes to its original proposal. That proposal was rejected by the U.S. Transportation Department.
Virgin said in its new proposal that they would d ditch its chief executive, Fred Reid, if necessary. In addition, they would also reduce any potential influence that Branson’s companies could have on this operation.
Virgin America added in a statement: “Changes to the company structure and investor agreements are extensive and demonstrate the extent to which Virgin America and its investors are prepared to go to get the airline approved.”
