Flyington Freighters order six A330-200F cargo planes from Airbus

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus has confirmed that they have received orders for six A330-200F cargo planes from India based Flyington Freighters.

This order continues to highlight the growing demand from the Indian market for airplanes manufactured by Boeing and Airbus.

The order also comes as a major support for the company’s new freight variant of the Airbus A330 jet.

Flyington’s order is worth around $990 million at list prices. Interestingly, they had placed a similar order with rivals Boeing last year.

This new order is not to replace the earlier placed order as the company clarified: “At the moment the Boeing deal is in place. The new order was placed keeping in mind the large business potential.”

They are set to receive planes from both Boeing and Airbus starting 2009.
