Toyota recalling Tundra Pickup, Sequoia SUVs in United States
Japanese automaker Toyota continues to have issues with quality of their cars in the US market. The company has now announced recall of half a million pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles in the country.
The company is recalling 533,000 Tundra pickups and Sequoia sport-utility vehicles. Toyota said in a statement that these cars have an issue which may make them difficult to steer.
This announcement comes after the company was instructed by the Japanese government to reduce defects. Toyota is increasingly becoming a threat to the General Motor’s top position in the world’s auto market.
The company already has six plants in the North American region and is soon going to open up another one in Canada.
Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe said in a statement: “Quality is Toyota’s lifeline. We are seeing progress in the quality projects we have been working on.”
