STAR Group loses top management people

Star TV has confirmed the rumors in the market that two of their top management people are leaving the company to pursue other interests.

A company statement said that Peter Mukerjea, chief executive officer, STAR Group, India, and Sameer Nair, chief executive officer, STAR Entertainment, India have submitted their resignations.

Mukerjea would now be joining his wife’s global executive search firm INX Global. Nair would be leaving the company at the end of March. He is rumored to be joining the NDTV’s new entertainment channel.

The company added that Paul Aiello, STAR CEO designate would also work as the company’s chief executive officer.

Aiello spoke about this announcement: “Peter and Sameer are two extraordinary executives in the industry. The transformation of STAR India into the leading television network in the country came in no small part due to their leadership. It is with great regret that we accept their decisions to resign from the company.”

It is pretty crucial time for Star in India as they begin their popular show Kaun Banega Crorepati in its new avatar with Shah Rukh Khan as the new host.
