Caparo Group acquires Sheet Metal Business of the International Auto Ltd.

Lord Swaraj Paul owned Caparo Group has announced that they are acquiring the Sheet Metal Business of the International Auto Ltd.

They are acquiring this business division through their wholly owned subsidiary, Caparo Engineering India Private Limited (CEIPL).

IAL is one of the major suppliers of sheet metal auto components to automakers like Tata Motors.

Caparo Group said in a statement that they are rapidly expanding its manufacturing facilities in India. The aim is to become a major supplier to automakers in the market.

A company statement said: “The acquisition from IAL comprises the sheet metal operations at Pune and Jamshedpur. The units have an installed pressed parts capacity of 16000 MT, employ 300 people and turnover Rs.72 crore per annum. The CEIPL already has a sheet metal auto component plant at Pune and with the present acquisition Caparo has further consolidated its position as a major supplier of automotive components to the Indian automotive market. The acquisition will strengthen the relationship between Caparo and the leading Indian automotive manufacturer, TATA motors, a major customer of IAL.”
