China Mobile has more mobile customers than people in the United States

A report posted on the China Mobile website claims that they now has more mobile customers than there are people in the entire United States of America.

China Mobile claims that they are now serving 301.2 million wireless subscribers. This is just above the total estimate population of United States which is around 300.9 million as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau.

These figures just go on to show how mobile telephony demand has increased in the Asian countries. China and India are two of the fastest growing mobile markets in the world.

China Mobile had touched the milestone of 100 million subscribers in July of 2002. They have been on a roll since then taking just a year and a half to add the next hundred million users.

With China’s population at an estimated 1.4 billion now, the mobile service providers in the region still have enough market to capture.
