BT to acquire International Network Services
British telecommunications carrier BT Group has said that they are acquiring International Network Services. This acquisition would help them to extend its enterprise services offering in the United States.
The INS specializes in providing services including information risk management and infrastructure transformation. They also provide consulting on business productivity and on enterprise architecture and governance.
BT said that the acquisition would add 900 staff to the 7,000 worker base which is already working in BT’s global professional services units.
The company added that INS would become a wholly owned subsidiary of BT and would be a part of their Global Services division.
INS CEO, David Butze would then report jointly to Chuck Pol, president of BT Americas, and to Gary Bullard, president of BT Global Business and Services.
A company spokesperson said that they paid around £100 million for this deal and the acquisition should be complete in a few weeks.
