Amazon.com gets record number of preorders for Harry Potter book
Online retailing giant Amazon has reported that the first-day advance orders for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” was 547 percent higher than for its predecessor.
This book is the seventh and last installment of J.K. Rowling’s successful book series.
The company said that the pre-orders for “Deathly Hallows” exceeded the first two weeks of pre-orders for its predecessor, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”.
Amazon further reported that the “Half-Blood Prince” book which was released in July 2005 generated more than 1.5 million pre-orders on Amazon.
The final book is due for a release on July 21 this year and this would reveal the final ending of the Harry Potter saga.
