Marka Hansen new head of GAP in North America

Gap Inc. is the biggest retailer in the US market and the company has now named Marka Hansen as their new head of its brand in the North American market.

This is the first major executive change GAP has announced since Paul Pressler resigned as chief executive officer of the company two weeks ago.

Hansen would take over from Cynthia Harriss who is resigning. She has been working as the president of Gap’s Banana Republic unit.

Market analyst Mark Montagna spoke about these changes in the company: “This is probably the first of other resignations at Gap. This is also the beginning of hunkering down and focusing on turning the company around.”
