Rupert Murdoch interested in Chandler bid for Tribune
News Corp. boss Rupert Murdoch has said that his company is interested in helping the Chandler family in its bid to purchase Tribune Co. assets.
Murdoch said in a statement: “We are interested quite openly; and frankly, if we could do something — not too expensive — that will lead to a joint operating agreement between the New York Post and Newsday.”
His company already owns the Post while the Tribune owns Newsday. Murdoch however added that his investment in this project would be small.
