Tokyo Stock Exchange collaborating with London Stock Exchange

Media group Kyodo News has reported in a news release that the Tokyo Stock Exchange has decided to tie up with the London Stock Exchange.

The report said that the two exchanges are set for an official alliance accord. Market sources have said that these two exchanges envisage an operational alliance and this collaboration would include developing financial products and mutually listing exchange-traded funds.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange has been trying to get into similar deals with other exchanges in the world earlier also. They had recently announced a strategic alliance with the NYSE Group Inc. as part of that deal, the two exchanges would develop and study opportunities in trading systems and technology, investment products, and governance.

In addition, the TSE is also promoting tie-up negotiations with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange along with Shanghai, Singapore and other Asian bourses.
