Easyjet claims that profitability is their first priority
Easyjet is famous for being a budget airline company. The company is now scheduled to make a big push for more business travelers in an attempt to double the amount of profit it makes per passenger.
Easyjet’s new chief executive, Andy Harrison said in a statement that the company would soon launch a trial offering business passengers priority seating for an extra £5 charge. He said: “The main area our shareholders want us to focus on is improving our returns.”
He further added: “We make £2 profit per passenger. We’ve got a target to increase that to £4. Ryanair make £5.” They are aiming to achieve this target in the next two years and are promising big incentives to their managers if they manage to achieve that.
EasyJet is aiming to fly around 35 million air travelers this year and are expecting that around 10-20% of these customers would be business travelers. The company also announced new routes to Marrakech in Morocco, the Turkish city of Istanbul and Rijeka, Croatia’s third largest city.
