TVS Motors reports 25% growth in sales in January
One of the most innovative two wheeler manufacturer in the country TVS Motors have reported a massive 25% growth in the sales figures of its bikes for the month of January. The company reportedly sold as many as 69,278 units compared to 55,639 units in the same month last year.
The total two wheeler sales for the company grew 20% to touch an impressive 1,12,909 units against 94,467 units in January 2005. TVS is now expected to soon launch its much-anticipated TVS Apache motorcycle and that should help it bring in more sales of their bikes in the market.
The company said in a statement: “The performance in January represents the shape of things to come in the coming months. While the performance of new brands launched last year like ‘StaR City’ bike continue to beat expectations, TVS Apache, the new 150-cc bike, promises to be a winner.”
Looks like the motorcycle segment in India is expected to become more and more exciting in the coming times with all the major players getting aggressive to become more competitive. It would be interesting to see how Hero Honda manages to keep their market share constant in the Indian market.
