The Times: Chrysler to be put on auction
The Times has reported in a news item that the US investment bank is likely to formally kick off a £7 billion auction of the automaker Chrysler. They are expected to soon send information memorandums to a number of potential suitors as early as this week.
The bank in their report would be sending data related to private information on Chrysler to potential suitors.
Media reports have also said that several parties are interested in picking up stake in Chrysler even before DaimlerChrysler said in a statement that they are looking into all the possible options with respect to their Chrysler division.
Another media report claimed that the world’s leading automaker GM is also in preliminary talks to buy Chrysler. However, they are said to be more interested in their Jeep and Dodge marquees.
South Korean automaker Hyundai is said to be another company which is ready to partner another company in acquiring Chrysler. They are looking towards securing the vast dealership network of Chrysler in United States.
