Jerry Yang donates $75 million to Stanford
Jerry Yang, co-founder of Internet media company Yahoo Inc. is donating $75 million to his alma mater Stanford University.
This was revealed by the university which is planning to use bulk of this money on a new environmental studies centre.
Yang along with fellow student David Filo started Yahoo.com website while he was working on his doctorate. He is planning to spread this donation over a period of several years.
He has previously also donated several times to the university though this particular instance is said to be his most generous one.
Yang would be making this donation along with his wife Akiko Yamazaki, also a Stanford graduate.
