Bridgestone to expand presence in India
Tire Company Bridgestone has said that they are planning to expand its presence in the Indian market. The company plans to increase its production capacity by 1,000 tires a day at its plant in Madhya Pradesh.
They are also planning to enter the Indian commercial vehicle segment in a big way this year.
Bridgestone India Managing Director Hisao Ikawa said in a statement on their plans: “Our current plant capacity is to produce 10,000 tires per day which we plan to expand to 11,000 tires per day this year.”
He further said: “We also have entered the commercial vehicle tire segment in India by launching our products in select Southern markets to begin with and would want to establish our product across the country this year.”
He added: “We currently are importing the tires from Thailand and will continue to do so. We may look at a new factory after some time, but nothing has been decided yet.”
