DaimlerChrysler expect to see profits in Truck division this year
DaimlerChrysler has said in a statement that they expect to make operating profits this year from their market-leading trucks business.
This is expected to happen despite the sharp U.S. market contraction. Company’s truck business division head Andreas Renschler said in a statement: “Earnings before interest and tax will be positive, even in the United States.”
However, he admitted that the business would not be able to match the record 2.02 billion Euros in operating profit it made in 2006.
He also said that the company expects the European truck market to remain stable this year. The inflow of new orders for commercial vehicles in Europe would help them in this market.
