United Parcel Service keeps the option to cancel order for Airbus A380 freighter planes
United Parcel Service has said that they have now reached an agreement with European aircraft manufacturer Airbus to push back delivery dates of the planes.
They have also kept the option to cancel the order outright if they so desire.
Incidentally, UPS is the last remaining customer for the Airbus A380 superjumbo freighter. They have been thinking about this order since October last year considering the delays in the releasing of this particular plane.
The order placed by UPS was originally scheduled for delivery between 2009 and 2012. UPS and Airbus have not revealed the latest dates they have agreed upon.
UPS also had recently ordered 27 of Boeing’s smaller 767-300ER freighter aircraft.
