Azerbaijan Air has a new order for Boeing
Azerbaijan Airlines has become the latest airline company to place a new order with US based aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
Boeing said in a statement that the Azerbaijan Airlines has signed on an order for three 787-8 Dreamliners and two 737-900 Extended Range aircraft.
With this, the Azerbaijan Airlines becomes the first carrier in the republics of the former Soviet Union to order the 787 and the 737-900ER.
This newly placed order is worth around $609 million at list prices.
Jahangir Askerov, director general of Azerbaijan Airlines spoke on this deal: “This is a momentous step in our history. With the twin-aisle 787, we will enter the long-haul market for the first time.”
