Carl Icahn invests in Motricity
US based billionaire investor Carl Icahn has invested $50 million in the mobile content provider Motricity. This is the second such investment from Icahn in the recent times related to mobile wireless technologies.
This investment announcement was made by the firm on Tuesday. The company added that Icahn’s son, Brett Icahn is now joining the Motricity’s board of directors.
Motricity specializes in proving content to mobile service providers. Their clients include companies like AT&T’s Cingular Wireless, Alltel, and Sprint.
They are also working in partnership with media companies like NBC, Turner, and Warner Music Group.
Carl Icahn said in his statement on this investment: Motricity is “well-positioned for dominance in mobile content, a sector for which we forecast growth in the coming years.”
