IBM has 52,000 workers employed in India
IBM is one of the biggest multinational companies operating in India. The company now has a worker base of 52,000 employees in India.
The company overall grew its workforce by around 8 percent in 2006. India continues to remain the market where they are expanding their worker base.
These figures were revealed by the company in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
IBM employed 355,766 people at the end of last year. This figure is up from 329,373 one year earlier.
The workforce base in India itself is up from 36,000 in 2005. Just three years ago, IBM had just around 9,000 people working in India. The figures prove how important India has become to IBM in the recent times.
India however still comes second to United States where IBM continues to have its largest workforce base of 127,000 employees.
