Match.com acquires Netclub and eDodo

Online dating service Match.com has announced that they are acquiring two foreign Internet services. These include Netclub in France and the eDodo social networking site in China.

The company already has a subscriber base of around 15 million web users. As per information made available by comScore Media Metrix, they are the world’s largest online dating and personals service.

These two acquiring would add 4 million new customers to their services.

This is also a sign that the company is changing the way they are aiming to expand. Till now, they have relied upon adding new services to gain new subscribers.

They already have a presence in more than 35 countries and in 15 languages. By acquiring eDodo they would get a foothold in China. China is increasingly becoming an attractive market to US companies because of its growing internet visitors.

eDodo currently has around 180,000 paid members but they claim to be adding roughly 3,000 subscribers daily.
