Motorola to concentrate on profits rather than market share
Motorola has been working hard on removing the gap between them and Nokia in the mobile phone market. In the process the company moved towards launching more of their budget phones resulting in lowering profits.
The company has now said that they would now concentrate on improving profits rather than improving their market share.
Motorola Chairman and chief executive officer Ed Zander said in a statement that “it’s not about market share any more”.
They need to recover from badly missed profit forecast. Market analysts have continuously said that the company needs to overhaul their strategy for the market.
Zander added: “You pick up bad habits when you’re really successful. I think in this case the market share thing had to be corrected a little bit in terms of getting the profitability picture back in there.”
