Indra Nooyi steps down from Motorola board seat
Indra Nooyi who is due to become the PepsiCo Inc chairperson in May, 2007 has announced her decision to step down from the board of Motorola.
Nooyi has been working as the Chief Financial Officer at Pepsi until previous year and was recently named the Chief Executive Officer of the company.
She said in a statement that additional responsibilities of the new positions in the company has resulted her to take this decision.
She has been a director at Motorola since 2002. She is not alone to be leaving this position at the world’s second largest mobile phone maker. H. Laurance Fuller, 69, a former co-chairman at BP Amoco plc has also announced plans to step down.
With this, Motorola’s board strength would now be reduced from 13 to 11.
