Perlos ends production in Finland leading to job cuts
Perlos is a company based in Finland which supplies parts to world’s largest mobile phone company Nokia. The company has now said in a statement that they are ending production at their plant in Finland which would result in job losses for 1,132 workers.
The company said: “The company will discontinue all production operations in Finland, closing its two facilities in North Karelia by the autumn of 2007 at the latest.”
The aim of the company is to cut costs and return back to profitability. The company further added that they are also planning to cut overlapping functions in the organization. This is likely to result in more job cuts in the future.
These latest job cuts are part of company’s earlier announcement of cutting 4000 jobs. Perlos overall aims to cut a third of its global workforce.
