Utah Street Networks assets acquired by Cisco

Network hardware giant Cisco has announced that they are acquiring some assets of the company that operates Tribe.net social networking service.

The company however added that the service would continue to operate independently.

Cisco has basically acquired selected assets of the company Utah Street Networks. They did not however reveal the financial aspects of this deal which they have confirmed is already complete.

This deal would enable the company get access to proprietary software infrastructure used by the company to operate services including Tribe.net.

They are planning to integrate these technologies into its Cisco Media Solutions Group (CMSG). Cisco added that some of the workers from Utah Street would join them in continuing further development.
