Bridgestone likely to supply tires for Toyota’s small car in India
Toyota Motor Corporation is said to be in talks with Madhya Pradesh-based tire manufacturer Bridgestone. The two companies are reportedly talking about source the tire requirements for its under development small car for the Indian market.
Sources have claimed that the two companies are likely to sign a deal soon. Hisao Ikawa, managing director, Bridgestone India said in a statement on these developments: “We are most likely to bag the order for supplying radials to Toyota’s proposed small car, which should roll out in 2009-10.”
Media sources have claimed that the Japanese company which is the second largest car maker in the world has set aside Rs 1,890 crore for the small car project.
Bridgestone and Toyota have been partners since a long time. They are partners in several countries including India and also work together on the F1 Circuit.
