Toshiba expands electronics recycling program

Japanese tech giant Toshiba has announced that they are now expanding their electronics recycling program. This program would now pay cash for used cameras, servers, mobile phones, and other products.

The company added that they would also now accept old notebook PCs for free.

Toshiba is working with the Green electronics Council and they have registered select notebooks with the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT). They would accept old Toshiba notebooks for free while owners of competing products can pay a small fee to donate their notebooks to the company.

Toshiba has also partnered with Dealtree.com and they would now also provide cash in return for old electronic devices. These products would include Apple desktops and notebooks, PC desktops and notebooks, digital cameras, servers, mobile phones, car audio receivers, multimedia projectors, and digital audio receivers.

That is good news for the environment. Hopefully the products will also be made from renewable and recycled sources.
