Apple to expand retail presence this year
Apple Inc. has plans to expand their retail presence this year. The company aims to open around three dozen Apple Stores this year.
Apple’s chief financial officer Peter Oppenheimer was quoted as saying in the media: “We expect to open 35 to 40 [stores] this year, with a little over 10 coming outside the United States.”
The company already has their retail stores located in countries including US, Canada, Japan and the UK. They are also working on opening their first retail store in Australia.
Some of the cities being rumored to be under consideration for a new Apple Store include Zurich (Switzerland), Paris (France), Glasgow (Scotland), Milton Keynes (UK), Berlin (Germany), Rome (Italy) and Johannesburg (South Africa).
The Chinese market too might get an official Apple retail store this year. The company has not released any official list.
